Congress Park

Congress Park flourished in the 1890s with the expansion of cable car lines from downtown, shaping it into a thriving residential area. As part of one of Denver’s earliest planned subdivisions, the neighborhood is known for its well-maintained grid of tree-lined streets and a blend of architectural styles, including Victorian, Craftsman, and Colonial Revival homes. In 1903, Congress Park became home to the city nursery, located just south of what was once Denver’s largest reservoir—a historical feature that remains underground today. The flag’s color palette of gunmetal, green, and blue reflects the neighborhood’s layered history, representing its early growth, transportation connections, and commitment to natural beauty. These elements honor Congress Park’s enduring heritage and the strong community spirit that continues to thrive.
