Cheesman Park

The neighborhood’s name traces back to Prospect Hill Cemetery, which was converted into a scenic park in 1907. At its center stands a striking neoclassical pavilion, built in 1908 to honor Walter Cheesman, a prominent Denver pioneer and philanthropist whose contributions were instrumental in the city's growth. Cheesman played a key role in developing Denver’s water supply system, helping to establish the city's first major water company, which later became Denver Water.

The flag takes inspiration from this landmark, symbolizing the park’s transformation and Cheesman’s enduring legacy. Its design reflects the elegance and historical significance of the pavilion, celebrating the neighborhood’s blend of natural beauty, architectural heritage, and the pioneering spirit that helped shape Denver.
