Washington Virgina Vale
Nestled in southwest Denver, Washington Virginia Vale is home to the historic Four Mile Park, a site rich with history and significance. Originally settled in the mid-1800s, the area played a key role in Denver’s development. It was named after the Washington and Virginia Vale subdivisions, established in the early 20th century, and became a central waypoint along the Cherokee Trail, connecting travelers to the city. Later, the area became a hub for farming and ranching, cementing its place in Denver’s agricultural history.
At the heart of the park stands the Four Mile House, the oldest standing residential structure in the Denver area, built in 1859. This iconic house not only witnessed the early growth of the region but continues to serve as a reminder of the neighborhood's deep historical roots.
The flag’s design draws inspiration from the architecture and colors of the Four Mile House, symbolizing Washington Virginia Vale’s enduring heritage and cultural significance. This flag serves as a tribute to the neighborhood’s historical legacy and its role as a witness to the evolving history of Denver and the American West.
