Hilltop
Hilltop, with roots tracing back to 1885, emerged alongside the development of the City Lateral Canal and the expansion of Denver’s streetcar lines. At its heart lies Cranmer Park, home to the neighborhood’s iconic sundial—a landmark first installed in the 1940s. After being destroyed by vandals in 1965, the community came together to restore it, ensuring its place as a defining symbol of Hilltop.
The flag design honors Hilltop’s rich heritage. A diagonal line, set at 50°17', mirrors the gnomon of the sundial, dividing the flag into two sections: blue for the canal and green for the park. A silver stripe cuts through the design, symbolizing the neighborhood’s former streetcar tracks and its transportation legacy.
